Practice Audit Day (Oct 2019)
This program is eligible for:
- 3.45 Professional Hours
One of the most important lessons to be learned as a licensee is that the practice of law is an evidence based process and not simply a truth based process; if you cannot prove something with evidence, you might find it treated as though it does not exist or did not occur. As such, while you can expect that a Practice Reviewer will spend the vast majority of the day discussing what you say about your practice management habits, it is just as important to confirm that you can show what you actually do. To that end, you can expect a review of a few of your files before the end of the Practice Audit day!
Join a panel of the current active Practice Review Counsel at the Law Society for a few hours to gain some additional insight regarding the Practice Audit Program, including:
- an introduction to the Program (who we are and what we do);
- the importance of the File Review as part of the Practice Audit process;
- an exploration of the life of a “typical file”; and (as an added bonus)
- a brief refresher on financial Journals and Trust Reconciliation.
In addition, the Coach and Advisor Network (CAN) will join us again this year to provide us with an introduction (or re-introduction) and overview of CAN, including what CAN does and does not do for licensees, as well as how the program is intended to assist licensees in the proactive management of both their practices and their professional careers.
