Hello, my name is Rachel Katz. I am the Student Director at the OPA and the OPA Student Liaison at Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (Lakeshore Campus). I recently became a paralegal licensee in Ontario after completing the Paralegal Education Diploma with honours at Humber College. I am currently in the process of earning a Bachelor of Paralegal Studies at Humber College, and I play an active role in the development of the new OPA website.
The OPA is a professional body that is essential to the optimal growth and development of the paralegal field and I am proud to aid in its effort to improve access to justice. My goal, working as a volunteer with the OPA, is to help ensure that paralegal students and new licensees are informed, confident, and prepared when they begin to practice. To help integrate newcomers into the legal community, I encourage students and newly licensed paralegals to attend monthly CPDs and take advantage of other networking, educational, and discount opportunities available to OPA members.
