LSO Compliant Virtual Verification

Legal Services / by Jordan McCown / 130 views

To meet the LSO’s January 1, 2024 requirements, our biometric facial recognition tool, FaceMatch, enforces the following two-step 30-second process.

Step 1.
Your customer is required to capture an image of their government-issued ID. Our technology then runs the following document checks:

- Liveness. Determines whether the ID presented is physically present or a digital image or video.
- Not Printed. Determines whether the ID presented is a printed copy or cut out of the original document.
- Portrait Photo Overlays. Detects if a document’s portrait photo is original or a physical overlay is present.
- Authenticity. Compares the features of the government-issued photo identification document against known characteristics, security features, and markers.

Step 2.
Your customer is required to capture a real-time selfie of themselves. Our technology then runs the following checks:

- Passive Liveness. Determines whether the individual presented is physically present or a digital image or video (iBeta 1 & 2 compliant).
- Face Comparison (validity and currency). Compares the facial signatures generated from essential facial landmarks like the eyes, nose, mouth, and facial contours between the ID portrait photo and the selfie image.
- Deepfakes & Cheapfakes. Detects sophisticated and crude manipulation of digital media.
- Device Spoofing. Detects if a device, browser, or location was manipulated to bypass verification measures.
